A $15 million project to expand the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum Expo Hall is underway. Our partners at 21Alive WPTA-TV in Fort Wayne report the work involves an additional 50,000 square feet of space for a new conference center. The space is built with versatility in mind with room for meetings, exhibits and even sporting events.

Amenities will include a showcase kitchen, audio-visual technology and will be equipped to hold 150 trade show booths.

Coliseum General Manager Randy Brown says the facility currently has an economic impact of $100 million.

The expansion is set to be complete in January 2016 and will be funded with revenue from the Professional Sports & Convention Development Area.
