The Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs is hosting several Main Street 101 training sessions across the state for communities interested in joining its Indiana Main Street downtown revitalization initiative.

Indiana Main Street encourages community-driven revitalizations of downtowns through a structured, collaborative approach that emphasizes both the art and science of redevelopment, focusing on characteristics such as historic structures and primary drivers of the local economy. The effort is affiliated with Main Street America.

“Our Main Street communities are vital to local economic development and sense of place,” OCRA Executive Director Fred Glynn said in a news release. “I encourage any organization committed to community-driven downtown revitalization to sign up for a Main Street 101.”
