The events, to be held on the last Wednesday of the month from July to November, will give communities networking and learning opportunities.
OCRA says the exchanges will "give communities an opportunity to discuss local issues, ways others have resolved some of those issues, and innovative tactics Main Street communities are employing to address the needs of their organization, community, and downtown areas." The events are open to leaders from all communities and not limited to official Main Street organizations.
The exchanges will be held in the following areas:
- July 27: Knightstown (Henry County)
- August 31: Frankfort (Clinton County)
- September 28: Roachdale (Putnam County)
- October 26: Greensburg (Decatur County)
- November 30: Special Holiday Edition – Location To Be Determined
The Main Street program encourages cities and towns to strive for economic development, redevelopment and improvement of their downtown areas. You can find more information on the Indiana Main Street Community Exchanges by clicking here.
