Notre Dame Touts Research Funding Record The university highlighted multiple federal funding awards that exceeded $6 million.

The University of Notre Dame has announced record research funding. The university says it has received nearly $134 million for fiscal year 2015, an increase of $20 million from the previous year.

The majority of the funding, more than 71 percent, was from federal sources. Over 24 percent came from foundations and other sponsors and nearly 4.5 percent was from industrial donors.

President John Jenkins says "our ongoing growth as a preeminent research university is being realized and recognized in many important ways – through projects and products that are making a real difference in the world, honors won by our faculty and the steady annual increases in funding from government agencies and other sponsors. This past year’s record-breaking total is a testament to the outstanding work being done by faculty across campus, as well as the support they are receiving from Bob Bernhard and his team in Notre Dame Research."

The total included funding to researchers in the Colleges of Arts and Letters, Business, Engineering and Science, School of Architecture, the soon-to-launch Keough School of Global Affairs and the Law School.
