Notre Dame Fills Newly-Created Position

The University of Notre Dame has hired Jack Curran to fill the newly-created position of associate vice president of new business development. He previously served as vice president of mergers and acquisitions at Rhode Island-based Textron Inc.
In the new position, Curran will focus on helping Notre Dame leverage strategic partnerships to boost regional growth. The school says an example of such a partnership is its Turbomachinery Laboratory, which involves the state of Indiana, the city of South Bend, and several industry partners. Curran will be tasked with coordinating and executing economic development efforts designed to benefit Notre Dame and the South Bend-Elkhart Region.
Curran spent more than two decades with Textron, and led the company through several strategic partnerships, joint ventures and acquisitions. He holds degrees from Boston College and Boston University.
The creation of the position was identified as a priority in the University’s strategic plan that was refreshed last year.
