The University of Notre Dame has promoted Eileen Botting to director of merit scholarship programs. She previously served as a professor of political science and has been a faculty member since 2001. Botting is also a fellow in the Kroc Institute for International Peace Studies, Nanovic Institute for European Studies and Massachusetts Historical Society.

In this new position, she will oversee the Hesburgh-Yusko Scholars Program, Stamps Scholars Program and other merit-based scholarship programs. Botting will advise students with merit scholarships, mentor those who are preparing proposals for summer enrichment experiences and develop lectures and other discussion forums. She will also maintain and expand relationships with University leaders, donors, staff in the Enrollment Division involved in merit scholarship support.
