Fort Wayne-based Parkview Health has named Gary Adkins president of Parkview Noble Hospital in Kendallville. He most recently served as chief executive officer of Paulding County Hospital in Ohio.

Fort Wayne, Ind. — Parkview Health officials today announced Gary Adkins, CEO, Paulding County Hospital (PCH), has accepted the position of President, Parkview Noble Hospital. Adkins has served as CEO at Paulding County Hospital for 13 years. Adkins replaces Dave Hunter who will retire on July 3 after serving as president of Parkview Noble Hospital since 2002. Adkins will join Parkview Noble Hospital on June 30.

Adkins brings more than 26 years of healthcare experience to Parkview Noble Hospital. He has served in senior administrative positions for more than 18 years, beginning in 1996 when he joined PCH as their Chief Financial Officer. During his tenure as CEO and CFO of PCH, Adkins has led many construction projects, including the Century Project in 2001, renovations to the PCH operating room in 2011, and the new emergency room and lab, constructed in 2013.

Under his leadership, PCH was named one of the iVantage HEALTHSTRONG Top 100 Critical Access Hospitals (CAHs) in the United States in November, 2013.

Adkins received his MBA from Regis University, Denver, Col., and his bachelors from Defiance College, Defiance, Ohio.

Adkins is a native of Paulding County, Ohio. He and his wife, Annette, have been married for 24 years. They have two children, Benjamin and Jackson. Adkins and his wife live in Angola, Indiana, on Jimmerson Lake. He enjoys spending time on the water and is an avid baseball fan. He also enjoys being involved in the community, serving on numerous boards throughout his tenure at PCH and he looks forward to continuing those efforts in the Noble County community.
