North Vernon manufacturer acquired by Canadian company

Decatur Plastic Products, an automotive components manufacturer in North Vernon, is under new ownership. The company’s assets have been acquired by Elton Manufacturing in Ontario, Canada, though financial terms were not disclosed.
DPP provides injection molding, fiber flock coating, assembly work, and tool building services for the automotive industry.
Elton said the acquisition has led to the creation of its new U.S.-based subsidiary, Elton USA. The company will be led by DPP Vice President of Operations Gary Riley Jr., who will take on the title of president.
“With this new addition to the Elton family, we will be able to strengthen our relationships with our U.S. customers, gain support and expertise from DPP’s highly skilled operations team, and increase capacity to achieve our growth strategy,” Elton Manufacturing founder Tom Boer said in a news release.
It was not immediately clear how many employees DPP had at the time of the acquisition. A request from Inside INdiana Business for more information was not returned.
Elton Manufacturing is a supplier of weatherstripping and windows for garage doors and entry doors in North America. The company has been producing window frames in DPP’s Indiana facility for the past three months, according to the release.
“We are confident that this acquisition aligns with Elton’s values and goals, and we are looking forward to continue to expand production in Indiana and assist our customers in our next stage of growth,” said Andrew Beavan, Elton’s senior vice president of sales.
DPP’s facility is located about 75 miles southeast of Indianapolis.
