The Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs says the North Manchester Industrial Park has achieved Indiana Site Certified Gold status.
OCRA says the designation certifies that the park is ready for economic development and the community is "committed to economic growth." The 106-acre site is located just south of downtown North Manchester, one mile from State Road 13 and is serviced by an on-site railroad.
"We are thrilled that our Industrial Park received the shovel ready certification," said Jim Smith president of the North Manchester Town Council. "This will help us market the great community we have built in North Manchester."
The Indiana Site Certified program has three tiers: Silver, Gold, and Prime. To achieve Gold status, a site is required to have a minimum of 20 contiguous acres, a location no more than 5 miles from a state highway, a completed geo tech study, a seismic hazard map, proper zoning, a desktop archaeological investigation, utilities located to the property line, and be free from recognized environment concerns.
