Officials from Communities in Schools of Clark County, the city of Jeffersonville and One Southern Indiana will cut the ribbon on the facility, which the organization hopes will attract much-needed volunteers.
CIS of Clark County is a student dropout prevention agency that provides in-school and out-of-school programming and services to about 4,500 at-risk youth throughout the county. The nonprofit works with all three school systems in the county.
Officials say they want the ribbon cutting ceremony to highlight the need for volunteers for the organization’s 321 Read program, which provides weekly 30-minute tutoring sessions for first, second and third grade students struggling with reading.
The ceremony is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. at the new office, located at 4403 Hamburg Pike, Suite C, in Jeffersonville.
