The nonprofit will add a central Indiana operations team in early July with the goal of serving 10,000 kids throughout the state over the next year.
Nine13sports, which integrates stationary bicycle simulators into the physical education curricula of K-12 schools, says the expansion will also include on-site programming and community days in partnership with LIDS stores throughout the U.S.
"As we continue to connect marketing with the impact of corporate social responsibility, these community days will utilize our programming to bring together LIDS patrons and staff in a unique way," said Nathan Smurdon, business development director for Nine13sports. "This fun environment will allow people to experience how Nine13sports demonstrates that the bicycle is the ultimate equalizer."
The nonprofit says it will release dates, times, and locations for in-store events in the future.
This is the latest expansion for Nine13sports, which announced in October plans to launch its school-based program into the Minneapolis market this September. The organization also has a presence in the Portland, Oregon market.
