Next Round of Road Work on I-469

The second leg of a major pavement project in northeast Indiana kicks off this week. The Indiana Department of Transportation says the nearly $25 million of work will involve replacement and resurfacing of portions of I-469. Bridge rehabilitation is also on the schedule for I-469 bridges over the Chicago, Fort Wayne and Eastern Railroad south, Tillman Road and the Chicago, Fort Wayne and Eastern Railroad north, as well as a bridge deck overlay over Houk Ditch near Fort Wayne.
The construction is slated to be complete before the 2018-2019 winter season. It will affect traffic flow periodically throughout the year in spots around U.S. 27 and U.S. 30. Last year, $13.2 million of rehabilitation work on different parts of I-469 was completed.
