Next Phase Set For $175M Hospital Project

Crews will begin external demolition of the first of several buildings Wednesday morning at Community Hospital East in Indianapolis. The work is the next step in a $175 million overhaul of the campus that started in August.
The buildings are being taken down to make way for a new medical tower and emergency department. Construction is set to take place over the next three years.
Community Health Network announced a $235 million investment last May. It involves redevelopment at Community East and a $60 million cancer center connected to Community North. The major developments at Community Health’s large campuses represent a revision to a previous strategy that called for three new health pavilions throughout central Indiana.
