Newton County manufacturer Adkev acquires Illinois company

Adkev Inc., a manufacturer of injection molded parts for the automotive, industrial and appliance markets headquartered in the Newton County town of Goodland is adding to its portfolio.
The company has acquired Illinois-based Winzeler Gear, according to trade publication Plastics Technology.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, but Adkev told the publication that all of Winzeler Gear’s 45 full-time employees will be retained.
Winzeler Gear designs and manufactures precision-molded gears for a variety of industries, including automotive, mobility, medical devices and lawn & garden, according to the company’s website.
Winzeler Gear CEO John Winzeler called Adkev the “ideal guardian” for his company. The publication reported that the company will continue to operate out of its Illinois facility.
In addition to its corporate office in Goodland, Adkev has locations in Monticello and Elkhart in Indiana, as well as a manufacturing plant in Danville, Kentucky.
