New Town Manager For Middlebury

A Goshen civil engineer has been named Middlebury town manager. The Elkhart Truth reports Mary Cripe will step down from her current position next month in order to take on the new role.

Cripe succeeds Mark Salee, who resigned last month after serving in the role since 2008. Cripe tells the publication she is excited to help Middlebury grow.

"I love forming relationships and partnerships with people," said Cripe. "I have the engineering experience to help with expansions of water treatment plants, roads and trails if needed. But being a town manager is more about collaboration." 

In a statement from the city, Goshen Mayor Jeremy Stutsman says a search for Cripe’s successor will begin immediately. The city says Cripe worked on a several "significant" construction projects during her 15 year tenure, including various bike trails, pedestrian underpasses and the Waterford Mills Parkway.

"Mary has worked hard with community leaders on a variety of projects to improve the quality of life in Goshen," said Stutsman. "Her efforts on behalf of the city are greatly appreciated and I wish her the best in her new endeavors."
