New Skylift to Provide ‘Birds Eye View’ of State Fair

This year’s Indiana State Fair will feature a new attraction that will give riders a view 35 feet above ground. The Subaru Skylift, which is sponsored by Lafayette-based Subaru of Indiana Automotive Inc., is like a ski lift that will span 1,400 feet and include 90 chairs.
The ride will be built and run by North American Midway Entertainment, which operates the State Fair’s Midway. SIA has reached a two-year title sponsorship agreement.
Indiana State Fairgrounds & Event Center Executive Director Cindy Hoye says "we are always seeking new opportunities to offer our Fairgoers the best possible experience, and we believe this new attraction accomplishes that. We are grateful for the support of NAME for their investment in this endeavor and Subaru’s continued partnership with the Fair."
The ride will operate on a continuous loop between the Midway and the Swine Barn and it will only run throughout the 17 days of the Indiana State Fair. The seven minute ride will cost $5.
