The Perry County Development Corp. has named Erin Emerson president and chief executive officer while also announcing long-time executive Alvin Evans has retired. Emerson has been with PCDC for nine years, most recently serving as executive director.
Evans has served on the PCDC board of directors since its inception in 1990. He began working full-time for the economic development organization in 2013. He has served as president and CEO, vice chair, and projects manager.
“Because economic development has significantly changed in recent years, the board recognizes that Erin is a perfect fit with her incredible leadership, marketing, and team building skills, “ said PCDC Board of Director Chairman David Goffinet. “All of Perry County will continue to benefit from her unique skill set and her dedication to our community. We are lucky to have someone of Erin’s caliber leading our organization into the future.”
During Emerson’s time, she has led the organization’s promotional campaign, Pick Perry. The PCDC says the campaign received a gold award from the International Economic Development Council.
During his time, Evans helped develop Perry County Industrial Park South, Perry County Industrial Park Riverview and helped the county secure $450 million in new investments.
