The flights between Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport and Charlotte Douglas International Airport are part of an ongoing effort to attract more nonstop and direct flights at SBN. American Airlines is the carrier for both routes, which will travel to two of the carrier’s largest hubs.
Executive Director Mike Daigle says the flights are a result "of the community’s support and choice to fly local. These new flights offer competitive options for both business and leisure travelers from the South Bend region."
Earlier this year, the airport and local economic development, business, tourism and government leaders launched Project Propel, which is designed to keep Michiana fliers in-town, instead of using airports in Chicago, Indianapolis and Fort Wayne.
