The change in leadership at Evansville-based Deaconess Health System is complete. Shawn McCoy and James Porter have taken over as chief executive officer and president, respectively, following the June 30 retirement of Linda White, who had served in both roles since 2004.

White announced her retirement in October, at which time both McCoy and Porter were named as successors. Before assuming their current roles, McCoy served as chief operating officer and Porter served as chief medical officer.

White has served in a number of positions with Deaconess over the past 40 years. She will serve as CEO Emerita for one year following her retirement.
