The Carmel-based Indiana Ballet Conservatory has named its new executive director. Jenny Okamoto succeeds Wilmara Manuel, who led the ballet training organization for more than two years.

In a letter to supporters, the IBC said "Jenny’s extensive background in non-profit management, development and fundraising will provide IBC with the direction to lead us forward. We would like to thank Wilmara Manuel for her hard work and dedication to IBC over the past two and a half years and are pleased we will continue to see her at the studio while her daughters continue their ballet education at IBC."

In addition to its annual performance of "the Nutcracker," the conservatory is working toward a spring production at the Scottish Rite Cathedral Theater in downtown Indianapolis and will offer multiple summer programs for students ranging in age from 3-18.
