SEATTLE, Nov. 21, 2013 — Urbanspoon, the leading mobile restaurant discovery application, today released its Top New Restaurants of 2013 – US Edition, highlighting the most viewed, reviewed, and liked restaurants to open their doors this year. Compiled from more than 46,000 new restaurants added to Urbanspoon in 2013, the list also highlights some of the trends shaping the restaurant industry. Taverns and laid-back barbeque joints gained in popularity while many diners still shy away from fine dining, with more than two-thirds of the list (70%) in the $15-and-under price range on Urbanspoon. The majority of the restaurants on the list offer casual fare with a unique twist, which appealed to diners seeking something new yet approachable.
