Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer has unveiled details of a $290 million convention hotel in the city's downtown. He says the Omni Hotel project will create 765 construction jobs and 320 permanent jobs. Plans were initially announced last March and include 600 hotel rooms, 225 apartments and grocery and retail space.

The mayor says the more than 30-story tower will be the city's third-tallest building.

Cordish Co. was originally announced last year as the developer. Omni Hotels & Resorts will now take on the project.
