New Director For Indiana National Guard

The Indiana National Guard has announced retired Colonel Jerry Hadley will serve as the guard’s director of state operations. Hadley retired from the Indiana National Guard in 2014 after 28 years of service and has spent the last two years as the senior Army instructor for the Junior Reserve Officer Training Corp at Arsenal Technical High School in Indianapolis.

Hadley is a native of Mooresville and served three combat tours during his career, including two deployments to Afghanistan and one to Iraq. He says he will miss the students and faculty at the high school as he takes on his new role.

"I have had the honor to work with at Arsenal Tech the past two years, I am excited to be rejoining the team at the Indiana National Guard," said Hadley. "It is an honor to be selected for this position and to be able to work with all the great individuals that make up the Military Department of Indiana, the work they do every day is so important not only for the citizens of Indiana, but also for the entire nation."

In his new role, Hadley will serve as the state senior management official and advisor to Indiana’s Adjutant General, Major General Courtney Carr. Before his retirement, Hadley served as the state operations officer.

"I look forward to working alongside Jerry again as he takes over this new role and I welcome him back to the Indiana National Guard," said Carr. "The skills and leadership abilities that he’s demonstrated throughout his military career will be extremely valuable as he will become a trusted advisor on my staff."
