The Better Business Bureaus for central and northern have each named new chief executive officers. The chapters say both appointments will go into effect January 1.

The Better Business Bureau Serving Central Indiana says Cathy Armour will serve as president and CEO. Armour has previously served as the chapter’s chief operating office and chief financial officer.

“Cathy has a great vision of the organization and its operations,” said Central Indiana BBB Board Chairman Tom Sponsel. “She has demonstrated her ability to elevate BBB’s impact and we are confident she is best person to move BBB forward in fulfilling its mission.”

Armour has held the role on an interim basis since earlier this month, when Tim Maniscalo announced his resignation.

The Better Business Bureau Serving Northern Indiana has named Rick Walz president and CEO. Walz currently serves as chief operating officer for the chapter and is a former board chair.

“My career experiences and service to the BBB Board of Directors have provided me with the ideal background to carry on the important work of the BBB,” Walz said. “From managing businesses to working with successful business owners all over the country, I understand the challenges faced by small business owners and want BBB to be a resource to help them prosper while helping connect consumers with businesses and charities they can trust.”

Walz succeeds Marjorie Stephens, who previously announced her retirement at the end of the year.
