MDwise in Indianapolis has a new leader. Michigan-based McLaren Health Care, which completed its acquisition of the HMO in January, has named Bruce Hayes president and CEO.

He succeeds Jim Parker, who has accepted the position of senior advisor to the secretary for health reform at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

Hayes joined MDwise in 2018 as chief financial officer. He previously served in several executive positions for Anthem, most recently as vice president of integration management/value capital. He holds a bachelor’s degree in finance and risk management from Ball State University and is a certified public accountant.

McLaren Health Care first announced the MDwise acquisition plans in November 2017. At the time, the company said it would maintain MDwise’s Indiana operations.
