Thomas Evans has been elected chairman of the board for Indianapolis-based Angie’s List. He succeeds John Chuang, who resigned from the board. Evans has served as chief executive officer for three public companies, most recently for New York-based Bankrate Inc., where he also served on the board of directors before retiring in 2013. He also spent seven years as president and publisher of U.S. News & World Report. Angie’s List also announced the resignation of Steven Kapner from the board. As a result of the resignations of Chuang and Kapner, the company has reduced the size of the board from 12 members to 10. The company reported a profit in its second quarter earnings report in July. The report came weeks after the company announced it was dropping the paywall for online reviews nationwide.
