The projects will provide better access to Silver Creek through enhanced walkways, streetscape improvements and widened roads for vehicles.
The city says the improvements will give residents the ability to better enjoy the scenery, wildlife and fishing that Silver Creek offers. The city says the projects are similar to the improvements being made as part of the Ohio River Greenway Project.
"We will remove barriers and encourage access to some of the most scenic and natural areas of our waterways," said Mayor Jeff Gahan. "Silver Creek has long been a place of natural beauty, and these measures will allow more residents to enjoy them."
Gahan says the improvements will make New Albany an overall better place to live.
