NEA Boosts Indiana Art Projects
One recipient is the Lotus Education & Arts Foundation
Indiana arts organizations and individuals will share in a total of $165,000 in grants. The support comes through a more than $30 million National Endowment for the Arts program. The Hoosier recipients are in Bloomington, Fort Wayne, Indianapolis, Morgantown and South Bend.
The NEA says the grants fall under Art Works, Art Works: Creativity Connects, Challenge America and Creative Writing Fellowship categories.
The organizations in Indiana receiving funding are:
- Lotus Education and Arts Foundation Inc. – $20,000 – Bloomington
- University of Saint Francis – $10,000 – Fort Wayne
- Big Car Media Inc. (aka Big Car Collaborative) – $25,000 – Indianapolis
- Castleton United Methodist Church Inc. (On behalf of Still Waters Adult Day Center) – $10,000 – Indianapolis
- Harrison Center for the Arts (aka Harrison Center) – $10,000 – Indianapolis
- Heartland Film, Inc. (aka Heartland Film) – $15,000 – Indianapolis
- Indianapolis Museum of Art – $30,000 – Indianapolis
- Young Audiences of Indiana Inc. (aka Arts for Learning) – $10,000 – Indianapolis
- Nancy Long (for a creative writing fellowship) – $25,000 – Morgantown
- South Bend Symphony Orchestra Association Inc. – $10,000 – South Bend
NEA Chairman Jane Chu says "The arts are for all of us, and by supporting these projects, the National Endowment for the Arts is providing more opportunities for the public to engage with the arts. Whether in a theater, a town square, a museum, or a hospital, the arts are everywhere and make our lives richer."
