In the hustle and bustle of our professional lives, we often find ourselves engrossed in the intricacies of our trades. However, amidst our daily routines, there exists a unique opportunity to broaden our horizons and delve into the critical issues facing the state of Indiana.

Enter the Dentons Legislative Conference which will take place on Wednesday, Dec. 13 at the Indiana Convention Center. This premier, annual event focuses on Indiana policy and offers a distinctive platform for professionals to gain insights into the challenges and opportunities shaping the Indiana Legislature.

Each year, the Dentons LegCon agenda is carefully curated to address issues that resonate most with Hoosiers. Dentons LegCon has become widely known as a cornerstone in the calendars of professionals from diverse fields, including law, business, industry, higher education, public education and government service. Mayors, county and municipal leaders, legislators, lobbyists, school superintendents and members of the Statehouse Press Corps gather at Dentons LegCon, creating a dynamic environment for thoughtful discussions and networking. Again this year, Gov. Eric Holcomb will join Dentons LegCon for a fireside chat to discuss his goals and expectations for his last legislative session.

State leaders, whether those running for office or already serving in the role, genuinely grapple with issues facing Indiana. The presentations during Dentons LegCon provide a rare glimpse into the burdens and responsibilities these leaders bear, allowing attendees to witness firsthand the dedication required to navigate the complex challenges facing the state.

Attendees of Dentons LegCon have come to expect they’ll be part of policy discussions on issues impacting Indiana life and business. This year, however, the event will hold an additional layer of insight as five Republican candidates vying for the Indiana gubernatorial nomination in 2024 will take part in a panel discussion.

As moderator of this panel, I am eager to delve into key policy areas, ensuring that the candidates address pressing issues that resonate with Hoosiers, such as economic growth, the state of education and workforce development strategies. We’ll have a Q&A-style discussion that will create a dynamic and engaging environment to be both informative and thought-provoking.

Over the decades, Dentons LegCon has garnered a reputation for hosting illustrious speakers and panelists such as David Gergen, Doris Kearns Goodwin, Gov. Mike Pence, Mayor Joe Hogsett, Gov. Mitch Daniels and Chief Justice Loretta Rush. These distinguished figures have brought their perspectives to the forefront, shaping the narrative around Indiana’s policy landscape. This year’s gubernatorial panel will take this narrative a step deeper by allowing attendees to assess the platforms and leadership qualities for those vying to be our next state leader.

Dentons has been honored to host this prestigious event for more than three decades and our team eagerly anticipates another day of rich and informative discussions. As Dentons LegCon continues to evolve, it remains a beacon for those seeking a deeper understanding of Indiana’s policy landscape, offering a platform where professionals can engage with the issues that will shape the future of the Hoosier State.
