National Recognition For South Bend Code School

South Bend Code School LLC has won a national award for boosting participation in computer science and making an impact on the community. Monday, the company received a Champions for Computer Science award in the organization category by the Computer Science Teachers Association and Code.org.

South Bend Code School took home one of 16 awards from a pool of 1,000 nominees. Alex Liggins, who co-founded the organization in 2015 with Chris Frederick and Alex Sejdinaj, accepted the award and said "we believe in the power of coding to change students’ lives. We have seen its transformative effect in the over one thousand students we have reached in just two years in Indiana and Michigan. We are grateful to code.org and the CSTA for this recognition, and for their continued partnership and efforts to promote computer science as a tool to empower students and prepare them for the future."
