National Publication Ranks Indiana Hotels

U.S. News & World Report has ranked the top hotels in the Hoosier state. The publication ranks hotels by the aggregate opinion of published travel experts and overall customer satisfaction of online reviews to TripAdvisor. The formula assigns a point number based on the amount of awards or recognition, a hotel’s star rating, and guest ratings, and the totals are combined and divided by the number of total eligible points.
The 1902-built West Baden Springs Hotel finished atop the list. The National Historic Landmark, formerly nicknamed the "Eighth Wonder of the World", includes 243 rooms, many of which overlook the famed domed atrium. The hotel’s spa, fitness center and restaurants also earned accolades.
Conrad Indianapolis finished second on the list, with the property’s location receiving the highest of remarks. The hotel’s wine bar, Tastings, and The Capital Grille restaurant, were two of the top reasons the hotel was so highly ranked.
Finishing third on the publication’s list was French Lick Springs Resort. The golf courses, 27,000 square foot spa, and the 51,000 square foot casino are some of the reasons guests ranked the hotel so highly. The majority of guests stated the history of the 1845-built hotel and the ornate, peaceful grounds were the top attractions.
