The Adjutant General of the Indiana National Guard, who held the title since 2015, will step down at the end of this week. Maj. Gen. Courtney P. Carr’s retirement comes amid a defamation lawsuit recently filed against him, according to our partners at WIBC. 

Brigadier General Timothy Winslow will serve as the interim Adjutant General. 

“Upon my recommendation, Maj. Gen. Carr has announced his decision to retire,” Governor Eric Holcomb said in a news release. “I received his resignation letter Saturday, and I thanked him for his service to our state and country.”

Maj. Gen. Carr’s resignation is effective Friday.
