NASCO Details Daviess County Expansion Plans

A manufacturer of specialty protective outerwear for electrical utilities and petrochemical companies, among others, has announced plans to expand its Daviess County operations. Washington-based NASCO Industries Inc. says it is investing $1.75 million in the project, which could create up to 20 jobs.
Construction has already begun on a new 24,000-square-foot warehouse facility. The project also includes remodeling existing facilities into new corporate offices. The Company says the expansion is due to increased demand for protective outerwear and heavy-duty rain gear in the company’s North American service area.
"NASCO holds a strong brand and reputation among its customers in the United States and Canada," said Washington Mayor Joe Wellman. "Beginning in 1979 from the ground up, NASCO has developed a continental presence through innovation and performance and has captured a strong market share for their products."
Chief Executive Officer Todd Smith says the company plans to hire between 12-20 new workers to its current staff of about 100. The expansion project is expected to be complete by the end of the year.
