The group charged with consolidating Purdue University Calumet and Purdue University North Central has released seven potential names for the combined school. Our partners at The Times of Northwest Indiana report those names and additional suggestions, which are still being accepted, will be presented at a meeting next week. The list so far includes:

-Purdue University Lakefront

-Purdue University Lake Michigan

-Purdue University Lake Shore

-Purdue University Lakeshore

-Purdue University Lakeside

-Purdue University Shoreline

-Purdue University South Shore

The committee is set to meet May 9 to release results of a recent naming survey of students, faculty, staff and alumni.

Purdue University Calumet Assistant Vice Chancellor for Advancement/University Relations Wes Lukoshus one or more “fully vetted” names will eventually be presented to the Purdue University Board of Trustees by the committee.
