Muncie Mayor Dennis Tyler and officials from the Muncie-Delaware County Economic Development Alliance are expected to make an economic development announcement Monday. They will be joined by officials from an unnamed company when the announcement is made.

No other details regarding the announcement have been released. The Muncie-Delaware County EDA was most recently preparing its proposal for the Indiana Regional Cities Initiative as part of the East Central region, which was not one of the three regions selected for the state matching funds.

The proposal, called Advance – A Vision for East Central Indiana, includes 14 projects totaling nearly $150 million, such as revitalization efforts along the White River and downtown Muncie and connecting New Castle’s arts district to artist Robert Indiana. Mayor Tyler says despite not receiving the Regional Cities funding, the execution of the plan will continue.

The latest economic development announcement is scheduled for Monday, December 21 at 10:00 a.m.
