Morgan County Touts Development in 2015

The Morgan County Economic Development Corp. highlighted a year of growth at its annual meeting Wednesday. The organization says economic development projects last year comprised $42 million in capital investment and plans for 200 new jobs.
Companies including TOA USA LLC, PacMoore Process Technologies, Mt. Olive Manufacturing and Overton & Sons Tool & Die all announced expansion plans in Mooresville last year. The MCEDC also touted construction plans from Morgan Insurance Group in Martinsville and the beginning of construction on the IPL Eagle Valley combined cycle gas turbine plant just north of Martinsville.
The MCEDC said key work force development activities created momentum for the county, including the Morgan County Career Expo. The organization said they are gearing up for the Morgan County Job Fair next week to promote current job openings in the area.
The group said it also plans to make an announcement soon regarding a new executive director. Chelsey Manns resigned as executive director at the end of the year.
