AT&T Inc. (NYSE: T) has announced expanded fiber optic connectivity in Jeffersonville and New Albany. The company says its 1 gigabit internet service is now available in 51 markets, including Louisville and Indianapolis.

Jeffersonville Mayor Mike Moore says "this 100 percent fiber network will contribute to our growing economy and high quality of life in Jeffersonville. Access to high-speed internet helps grow small businesses and improve access to educational opportunities, so we’re excited to hear about this new service from AT&T."

New Albany Mayor Jeff Gahan says "high-speed connectivity is key to everything from public safety and health care, to education and economic development. This is certainly a welcome investment by AT&T – one that will quickly pay dividends for many of our citizens."
