As college football and the National Football Leauge seasons kick off, at least two more Indiana casinos intend to allow for legalized sports betting. Hollywood Casino in Lawrenceburg and Tropicana Evansville both announced they will launch sports books before the seasons begin in September.

Pending approval from the Indiana Gaming Commission, the two southern Indiana casinos will join two northwest Indiana gaming facilities which announced plans to offer sports gambling, Horseshoe Hammond Casino and Ameristar Casino East Chicago.

In May, Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb signed a bill that legalized sports betting in the state beginning September 1.

Penn National Gaming Inc. (PENN: Nasdaq) says it will launch sports betting at the casino in Lawrenceburg and draw from players from Indiana, Ohio and Kentucky.

"The enthusiasm around sports betting has been growing since the federal ban was repealed last year, and we look forward to providing our patrons with another great amenity to enjoy at our facility,” said Tim Wilmott, CEO of Penn National Gaming. The company also intends to offer the sportsbook at the Ameristar Casino in East Chicago.

Eldorado Resorts Inc, (Nasdaq: ERI) announced William Hill US intends to open its first Indiana gaming operations at the Tropicana Evansville. The company has 143 sports wagering locations across the country.

"We have no doubt that William Hill’s industry-leading wagering menu and technology will enhance the guest experience which is always the priority at all Eldorado Resorts properties across the country," said Glenn Carano, senior vice president of operations, East Region for Eldorado Resorts.

The Indiana Gaming Commission, which has to approve the opening of the gaming operations, meets August 28.
