The Monroe County Historical Society has named Susan Dyar director. She previously served as senior vice president of education and visitor experience for the Indiana State Museum and Historic Sites.

As director, Dyar will manage the implementation of programs related to preserving the history of Monroe County and will oversee the management of the Monroe County Historical Society which includes a local history center with a museum, research library, a museum store and a variety of programs and special events.

She graduated from Purdue University where she received her B.S. in Landscape Architecture. Dyar also completed graduate work in anthropology at Indiana University in Bloomington.
