MonoSol Slated for International and Local Expansions

Merrillville-headquartered MonoSol, part of Tokyo-based global specialty chemical company Kuraray Group, is expanding its operations with the construction of a new manufacturing facility in Poland. The company is also planning to increase Indiana manufacturing capacity at its new plant in Lebanon.
The new manufacturing plant in Poland is expected to create about 90 jobs. The company says it will share details about its plan and timeline alongside a groundbreaking ceremony to be held when construction begins.
MonoSol broke ground in last year on the $72 million, 150,000-square-foot facility in the Duke Realty Lebanon Business Park in Indiana. It is the company’s fourth manufacturing plant in Indiana and sixth internationally and is slated to begin operations in December.
The company is planning to install additional equipment, doubling the plant’s initial capacity. The new capacity is expected to begin commercial production in 2021.
“The need for environmentally friendly solutions is growing at a rapid rate as companies across the globe take on the challenge to make everyday products simpler, safer and more sustainable,” said P. Scott Bening, president and chief executive officer of MonoSol. “Kuraray’s continued commitment and investment in our customers’ future will allow us to transform brands globally and at an unmatched capacity.”
The company says the facility will have brought more than 90 new jobs to the region by time the expansion is complete.
