The Monon Bell Classic football game will be nationally televised again this year. The annual duel between DePauw University and Wabash College is one of the sport's oldest rivalries and will be shown for the 11th time on AXS TV in November.
The game dates back to 1890. The famed Monon Bell trophy, awarded to the winner annually, was donated in 1932. It comes from a train from the old the Chicago, Indianapolis and Louisville Railroad Co., which was also called the Monon Line.
Wabash has 59 wins in the series, DePauw has 53 and the teams have tied nine times.
AXS TV was launched by well-known entrepreneur and Indiana University graduate Mark Cuban and focuses on music performances and entertainment events.
