Lafayette-based workplace and security communications provider Ra-Comm Inc. has been acquired by South Carolina-based Mobile Communications America Inc. Financial terms of the deal were undisclosed.
With headquarters in Spartanburg, MCA has more than 90 offices across more than 15 states. Billed as the largest Motorola partner in the United States, it provides wireless communication, data and security services for workplaces across the nation.
The impact on Ra-Comm employees, who work in offices in Lafayette, Terre Haute and Pittsboro, is unclear. Company representatives did not respond to requests from Inside INdiana Business for more information.
Ra-Comm provides services to first responders, school systems and industrial companies across central Indiana, a Feb. 14 news release announcing the deal said.
“For over 50 years, Ra-Comm has built its reputation on exceptional Motorola service, driven by a customer-first philosophy,” Ra-Comm co-owner Allen Williams said in the news release. “We’re confident that MCA shares this same dedication and will continue to put our customers’ needs first.”
MCA CEO Vince Foody said the acquisition aligns well with his company’s growth objectives.
“We’re excited to combine our strengths and enhance our impact within the Great Lakes region for the benefit of employees and customers alike,” he said in the news release.
Last month, MCA announced the acquisition of Supreme Radio Communications Inc., a critical communications provider that serves central Illinois and parts of Iowa.
