Daniels Joins Norfolk Southern Board

Subscribe NowPurdue University President Mitch Daniels has been elected to the board of directors of Norfolk Southern Corp. (NYSE: NSC). Chief Executive Officer James Squires says his insight will prove "invaluable" to the transportation company.
Daniels will serve on the Compensation Committee and the Governance and Nominating Committee of Norfolk Southern’s board. The company cites his work in improving affordability, accessibility and STEM leadership as Purdue president and his budget and infrastructure efforts as governor of Indiana as reasons for his election to the board.
The former governor also serves on the boards of Cerner Corp., the Urban Institute and the American Academy of Arts & Sciences Commission on Postsecondary Education.
Norfolk Southern also announced retired Ernst &Young partner Marcela Donadio has joined its board.
