The Department of Energy’s Office of Nuclear Energy has appointed Carmel-based MISO Chief Executive Officer John Bear to the Nuclear Energy Advisory Committee.

The NEAC and its members provide independent advice to the Office of Nuclear Energy on complex science and technical issues that arise in the planning, managing and implementation of DOE’s nuclear program.

Members of the NEAC are experts in their respective fields and were chosen to represent diverse sets of knowledge to provide advice on the growth and development of the U.S. nuclear sector.

Bear’s appointment solidifies MISO’s commitment to participating in all dialogues on maintaining the reliability of the nation’s future power grid.

More information is available from the Department of Energy.
