Nearly 1,000 technology, business and community leaders are expected at The Westin Indianapolis Saturday for The 18th Annual Mira Awards, honoring the best in technology. Honors to be awarded Saturday include Tech Company of the Year, Scale-up Company of the Year and Best New Tech Product. Inside INdiana Business Television will feature several of the winners the weekend of May 5.
TechPoint has already named some of this year’s winners. Last week, the state technology initiative announced Indianapolis-based Angie’s List (NYSE: ANGI) co-founder Angie Hicks as the winner of its annual Trailblazer Award. TechPoint Chief Executive Officer called Hicks "an inspiration to a new generation of Hoosier entrepreneurs." Ann Arbor, Michigan-based Plymouth Growth Partners and Partner Jeff Barry will be recognized as Investor of the Year. The firm last year closed on more than $5.7 million in funding for Internet of Things systems provider ClearObject and cloud solutions integrator Kinney Group.
In March, TechPoint named the winners of its inaugural People’s Choice Mira Awards. The Best Tech Event will go to ClearObject’s IndyIoT symposium, Upper Hand’s headquarters is Best Tech Space, and Best Tech T-Shirt or Swag will go to WebLink’s "Fight of the Century" t-shirt.
