Mining Company Idling Edwardsport Operations

An Oakland City-based mining company is idling its three Freelandville Mine operations in Edwardsport. In a notice to the state, Triad Mining LLC says the decision will lead to the layoff of 75 employees.

The company says the terminations are expected to take place on or around May 23. All of the layoffs are expected to be permanent.

Triad Mining still has locations in Oakland City, Lyons and Winslow.
