Military Again Increases AM General Contract

The U.S. Army has boosted a South Bend-based AM General LLC contract. The $41.6 million deal involves more than 200 Humvees.

All work will be performed at the South Bend plant and includes 134 M1151A1B1 and 72 M1152 models for use by the Iraqi government. The contract is estimated to be complete September 30.

Last month, the contract was also increased and that work is slated to be complete at the end of May. It was for $28.2 million and involved 150 M1151A1B1 vehicles.
