Midwest Fertilizer Finds Partner For $2B Project
Midwest Fertilizer says it has found a designer and builder for a more than $2 billion project in Posey County. The Courier & Press in Evansville reports ThyssenKrupp Industrial Solutions USA will partner on the plant.
The project has been delayed for years. Back in 2013, Governor Mike Pence suspended state support for the company because of concerns about the company’s lead investor, Pakistan-based Fatima Group. The company, which was incorporated in 2012 for the purpose of building the plant, later withdrew its request.
The publication reports Midwest Fertilizer expects the plant to be up and running by 2020.
