Midwest Fertilizer Co. Names President and CEO
Midwest Fertilizer CEO Les Wright says he "strongly believes" southwest Indiana is the ideal spot for the plant.

He replaces Mike Chorlton who announced his retirement from the company. Chorlton will remain involved with the fertilizer manufacturing company as a consultant. In addition to serving as interim president and CEO, Wright will remain chief financial officer for the company. Wright held several senior financial leadership positions within Cargill Inc. including serving as worldwide fertilizer controller. He has also been the chief financial officer for Saskerco Products Inc. and Lilydale Inc. Wright’s senior leadership experience includes startup and acquisition projects, internal and external financial reporting, risk management, and information technology. Since 2013, Chorlton and Wright have worked in Indiana on the development of the $3 billion fertilizer manufacturing project located in Posey County. The state-of-the-art facility is one of the largest fertilizer manufacturing investments in the U.S. in more than two decades.
