Michigan Company Adding 100 Perry County Jobs

Michigan-based manufacturing service provider WGS Global Services has announced plans to establish its third production facility in Indiana. The company says it will invest nearly $7 million to lease and equip a plant in Perry County and add up to 100 jobs by 2019.
WGS provides cleaning, assembly and processing services for manufacturers. It has two operations in Tell City, as well as locations in Michigan, Tennessee and Wisconsin. The company says the new facility allows it to boost manufacturing and logistics services to the defense, automotive and commercial manufacturing industries.
The Indiana Economic Development Corp. has offered WGS up to $400,000 in conditional tax credits based on the job creation plans. The town of Troy will consider additional incentives.
WGS currently employs more than 180 associates in Indiana. The company plans to begin hiring for distribution, inspection and manufacturing positions next month.
